Baahubali: Most expensive film ever

What's the highest amount a Prabhas film collected so far? Well, the answer is simple: Rs 30+ Cr. Then why does Rajamouli seek a budget of Rs 100 Cr for his new film with Prabhas in the lead and think that he could recover it easily? Rajamouli has his own calculations, which are valid too, if we go by the top director's track record. So the producers (Arca Media) happily approved the said budget, sources told us. It is not that he's going to spend that staggering amount entirely but he has now Rs 100 Cr at his disposal to use if necessary.

Sources also told us that the budget plan as per the pre-shooting schedule strategy will more or less require this whopping amount of Rs 100 Cr. In other words, Rajamouli is going to use almost double the budget of his massive hit Magadheera.

In Three Languages

Baahubali, Rajamouli's current film, will be the most expensive Telugu film ever. Indeed no Telugu film so far crossed Rs 100 Cr revenue from theatre collections. Hence, it can be said Rajamouli is taking huge gamble or risk. But the director is confident that when he could generate revenue (theatrical and ancillary revenue) to the tune of Rs 60/70 Cr with Eega from all the three languages, he can easily recover the money with this period drama which is going to be made and release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.

Shooting schedule..

Baahubali stars Prabhas, Rana, and Anushka in the lead roles with M M Keeravani providing the music and Senthil Kumar handling the camera. For the first time, Rajamouli is working with Sabu Syril, the art director. The film will commence its regular  shoot shortly.
