Naidu under pressure for MLC seats

It looks like the Telugu Desam Party leaders are not very much hopeful of the party coming to power in the state in the next elections, too.
It is precisely the reason why there is a stiff competition among the party leaders for the MLC seats under the MLAs’ quota, elections for which would be held on March 21. Since there is no guarantee that the party would get even the present number of MLAs in the next elections, leave alone coming to power, the party leaders want to get into the legislative council, so that they would enjoy some position at least for the next six years.
The TDP has the chances of winning three MLC seats, out of 10 seats for which elections are going to be held. Among those who are trying for the seats are: former ministers Kadiam Srihari from Warangal, P Chandrasekhar from Mahbubnagar, Kondabala Koteshwar Rao from Khammam and Tammineni Sitaram from Srikakulam, besides several other lower-rung leaders. Even outgoing leaders like Pogaku Yadagiri and Durga are seeking renomination.
TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu is extremely busy with his padayatra, he has been receiving representations from the party leaders seeking MLC seats. Needless to say, those who do not get the seats are getting ready to take a plunge into YSR Congress party to secure their future!
